Living With Migraines

Migraines can definitely make life difficult. Migraines are a headache of varying intensity. Migraines can often be accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine headaches can cause throbbing in one particular area that can vary in intensity. Migraines can be triggered by certain foods and drinks, exercise, hormonal changes, and stress.

Migraines differ in length. Some steps can be taken to help relieve the pain caused by migraines. At the first sign of a migraine, you should retreat from your usual activities if it is possible. Since migraines often increase sensitivity to light and sound, you should turn off the lights and be in a quiet place.

Temperature therapy is another way to help treat your migraine. Apply a hot or cold compress to your head or neck. Ice packs have a numbing effect, which may dull the sensation of pain. Hot packs and heating pads can relax tense muscles. Warm showers or baths can also provide a similar effect.

Caffeine can also help relieve migraine pain. It also helps to enhance the pain-reducing effects of Tylenol and aspirin. You have to be careful when using caffeine though because too much caffeine can lead to withdrawal headaches.

CBD is another way to help with migraines. A few drops of the New Herbal Farms Tincture can help relieve migraine pain at the start of a migraine. Also, daily drops of tincture can be used as a migraine preventative. It is best to use a few drops a day to prevent migraines.
