Keeping Yourself Occupied During COVID-19
It seems like this quarantine has gone on forever, and as of now, there is no clue as to when it is going to end. Now I don’t know about you, but I am tired of doing nothing around the house and need something to do to stay busy. Well, there is a whole world of hobbies and activities that you can do while maintaining social distancing.
Taking walks is one of the best ways to get out of your house during social distancing. You can easily maintain social distance while walking and it is a great way to get your body moving and release some of the pent up energy you may have. And you don’t have to stick to your neighborhood- you can find local trails or branch out to other hiking roots that may be farther out.
There are many hobbies you can try to keep yourself occupied. Baking, for instance, is a great creative outlet. Baking allows you to experiment with different flavors in different forms such as cakes and cookies. You can also decorate your baked goods after making them. Baking can be a time-consuming process that allows you to keep yourself busy.
Painting is another hobby that you could take up to stay busy. There are so many different ways you can paint; water paints, acrylic paints, painting on a canvas, painting on wood. There are tons of inspirational pictures online to try to replicate.
There are so many other things you can do throughout the day to pass the time. You can do puzzles, try knitting, or learn yoga. Quarantine has presented a unique opportunity to try new things with a lot of free time. We can choose to wallow around the house and think about the missed opportunities we had, or we can make the decision to take advantage of this time and try something we normally couldn’t fit into our daily lives.
