Great, And Healthy, Ways To Use Frozen Bananas

Bananas are affordable, abundant, and super easy to take for granted. Finally though, bananas are getting the credit they deserve and have move past the oatmeal bowl and sundae bar. These days it’s all about taking bananas to the next level. One of the best ways to do this is simple and easy- freeze them!

Something to note is that you should peel the banana before freezing them, as it's WAY harder to peel after they’re already frozen. Aside from being an amazing source of potassium, magnesium, and vitamin C, frozen bananas add a distinct richness to any recipe, and here are a few ways to do it.

Smoothies

Ditch the ice and throw in a frozen banana instead for an ice-cold dose of non-dairy creaminess and all-natural sugar. It will also make your smoothie thicker, which will keep you full for longer.

Vegan ice cream

Whipping frozen bananas in a food processor will give you a great bowl of velvety vegan ice cream. All you need to do now is add some toppings, like almond slices.

Snack Bites

Top frozen banana slices with a spoonful of your favorite nut butter and a dash of cinnamon. Then place them on a baking sheet with wax paper in the freezer to set. In about an hour you’ll have a great and healthy grab and go treat. The potassium from the banana will help you maintain healthy blood pressure, and the nut butter’s protein will keep you energized.

Popsicles

Simply blend one frozen banana with one cup of your favorite fruit and one cup of almond milk. Pour the mixture into a popsicle mold or ice cube tray, and freeze until solid.
